The fridge worked nice for 8 months then after power outage when the power came back on I thought nothing about it until I noticed no ice fridge was warm and freezer was defrosting Called for service since still under warranty and they were horrible. Wanted a 67yr old woman to pull out a fridge it took 4 men to put in..said no LG customer service would rather threaten than send someone. Long and short..Smart refrigerator breaks when power goes out and comes back on LG horrific cust Serv.

Love the Fridge craft ice maker could be better

Have had it for over a year and while I love the features there are a few issues. CRAFT ICE: Bought the unit specifically because we loved the craft ice balls. The craft ice maker was OK at first then after the first year became jammed and after that created miss-shaped and cloudy ice. A firmware upgrade fixed the jamming problem but the whole ice maker had to be replaced to fix the shape problem. LG took care of that at no charge. Shelves: very few adjustment options on the shelves. Had to remove one shelf to give height to put tall items in main space. Door Buttons - When water/ice display is off you need to wake it up first to be able to select water/ice/crushed. Not the end of the world but why should I have to press a button twice to make it do what it says it does? All in all we like the unit and hope that LG has solved their linear compressor failure problems.

Refrigerator is ok but trying to get service....

I purchased this thinking that LG was the best. I recently had a defrost in my freezer. I called our appliance service company and they told me they do NOT work on LG because of the problems they have with both the refrigerator and the company I called LG directly and they said someone would call me in a few days. NOONE CALLED NOONE FOLLOWED UP This is scary. I will absolutely look for another company next time I am buying my new stove and dishwasher.

Why is it always the ice maker

If someone could make a refrigerator freezer with a reliable ice maker they would claim the market. But this to replace the last one where the ice maker cut out. The ice maker broke after 8 months. Luckily under the warranty so back to working for awhile. I like the mini door more than I thought I would. The craft ice is amazing.

LG Refrigerator Nightmare

Bought this refrigerator about 5 months ago. Within the last two months I have had to get it services twice because of failures. First it was the craft ice maker it stopped making ice and they had to come in and replace it. A month later the regular ice maker in the door went out. Again they had to come out and replace it. Both times the technician mentioned problems with each unit but LG is not taking proactive measures to prevent customer disruptions. Very disappointed with the quality I have experienced till now and really concerned with the long-term reliability of this unit.

Second Refrigerator in 2 years

Buy the extended warranty 4/13/2023

I had an almost identical refrigerator and it was from LG and only lasted 2 years. Getting it fixed never happened. Customer service at LG is terrible and did not help. Thank goodness we purchased a 3rd party warranty.

My Fridge

I purchased this fridge about 2 weeks ago as an addition to our kitchen refurbishment. It looks fantastic fits into its space perfectly and so far Ive havent encountered any issues. Unfortunately we havent been able to use the water or ice dispenser because our water line hasnt been hooked up yet. Hopefully we wont have any issued whenever that happens.

Ok Features Disappointing Craft Ice Maker

Overall rate the refrigerator as being ok. FYI we had a previous model of this same refrigerator. This upgraded model does have some nice updates. However there are a few items that I wish I had known about prior to purchasing this model as I would have likely looked for a different refrigerator. First having to constantly toggle between ice and water is annoying and frustrating. I guess only time will tell if the control panel can hold up to the constant toggling. Second and a much larger issue is the craft ice maker located in the freezer compartment. We purchase the refrigerator as it has two ice makers and our family uses a lot of ice. However what we did not know is that the craft ice maker only produces 3 or 6 you choose the setting tennis ball size cubes in a 24 hr period. As such we find the second ice maker very disappointing and completely useless. I would replace the craft ice maker for a traditional cube maker in a heartbeat if such could be done. We might have a refrigerator with two ice makers but find the craft ice maker does not produce anywhere near enough ice and is really useless. We find ourselves regularly having to buy bagged ice. I would not recommend buying this refrigerator if having two ice makers that produces satisfactory amount of ice is important. Very disappointing

Our last LG refrigerator was great but this one is not. Ice maker has never worked great. Had the LG tech come out and he said everything was working. Now we are not getting any ice out of the top ice maker and the ice bucket keeps getting frozen in. The craft ice isnt working either. Ice is frozen together if it even drops. The bucket has frozen water in it all the time. The fridge part works good but ice maker is awful.

Good Fridge

A very spacious and overall good Fridge. The craft ice maker stopped working within the first year. We contacted LG and they quickly arranged and replaced it. Very good customer service.

Love the refer however have had several issues. Had both ice makers replaced. Now we have the same problem ice makers arent working again. Now add the fact that an error code keeps coming on and water leaking out of the door Getting it repaired is a long process and when I finally got an appointment to repair. Have to wait two weeks for repairs...

Great fridge but it has had some issues

The fridge is about 1 1/2 years old. It had an ongoing lighting issue for awhile. The lights would not come on when the left side door was opened. The problem was finally resolved after 3 visits by the repairman. Bad control board. The craft ice maker was just replaced for 2nd time. The ice maker quit functioning. This seems to be known problem and LG extended the warranty on the craft ice maker for 2 years. Other than those issues - please note that neither of the issues interfered with the cooling or freezing functionality - we have been happy with the product. LG was quick to respond to the issues to seek a fix. Had it been trouble free since we bought it I would have given it a high 4 or 5 star rating.

LG Refrigerator Review LRFDS3016S

We bought our LG model LRFDS3016S refrigerator 14 months ago. We had an issue with the craft icemaker just after the 1 year warranty expired but LG fixed the issue anyway. As a matter of fact they extended the craft icemaker warranty to 3 years because of issues customers were experiencing. It was nice to have LG stand behind their product. Everything works great.

Excellent Refrigerator

Really enjoy the following features: 1 WiFi connectivity via the LG ThinQ smartphone app. 2 Dual ice makers where the Craft ICE maker located in the freezer makes round ice cubes. 3 Its runs quieter that my previous 2016 model LG french door refrigerator.

Replaces a similar model 6 years older

We had the same unit purchased in 2016 and loved it until it died. Loved it enough to buy this follow on model. They are always trying to make things better and some things are but others are not 1 The old fridge had two dispensing paddles 1 for ice 1 for water. This meant water or ice was always available without pushing any buttons first. Now sometimes you get ice sometimes water depending on what was dispensed last. Were always pushing buttons. 2 Ice dispenser chute is too short. With the old fridge you could get your glass right up to/around the chute so no ice spilled. This one has the water dispenser in the way. Ice chips are always spilling. 3 Back of the fridge has no light so its dim. Lights brighten slowly which is cute but useless. 4 Deli drawer is more shallow so less fits because produce drawers are larger?. But worse is that it only pulls out 9.25 while being 20.25 deep - so you have to go feeling around and I can barely get my hand to the back Often have to release the drawer as if taking it out of the fridge to get to stuff. 5 The old fridges shelf above the produce drawers slid out which was VERY convenient to reach things at the back. This one is fixed in place. 6 The shelving can not be installed as low as in the old fridge reducing flexibility. 7 In the old fridge I was able to snap in a shelf in the front of the freezer drawer present in USA models but missing in Canadian ones which was perfect for storing frozen drink glasses. That space in this freezer is wasted. On the good side: - The ice crusher/dispenser is still faster than any other fridge Ive seen. - door-in-door is a feature I would not like to live without. - door-in-door storage is more flexible - enough so weve moved most of our tall drink bottles there from the main shelves. - 2 produce drawers use space more effectively than 3 in the old fridge. - still a very quiet fridge. - its huge - make sure you have the depth or it will project into your kitchen.

Craft ice does work

We purchased our LG just over a year ago and have had to replace the craft ice maker 3 times. In a year we have been without a working ice maker longer than we have had a working ice machine. We. Paid extra for this feature and are extremely disappointed.

I have had the fridge about 2 weeks and I absolutely love it. Mostly the door for door on the outside of the fridge. No more standing there with all the doors wide open looking for something to drink . And the 3 freezer drawers help keep me well organized.

Love the Door in the Door Feature

After researching we ended up with this LG Fridge. It has all of the features we wanted. We especially wanted the Craft Ice Maker. We have had it for 5 months now. This fridge is so smart it emailed us that the craft ice maker had a problem and the LG Tech Team called to schedule an appointment for repair all on its own A new Craft Ice Maker was installed and we once again have big balls of ice. Another thing that we like is the full width drawer inside the fridge. Our last fridge had the drawer accessible without opening the main doors a very nice feature. However on this LG one must open the twin doors to access the full width drawer. Also the glass shelf on top of that drawer has a design which blocks seeing what is in the drawer which forces one to pull the drawer all the way out and then pull items from the back to the front to be seen. This is awfully inconvenient. One thing I wish it could do is have the water dispenser light on as a night light instead of only on when its giving ice or water. All in all it is a wonderful Refrigerator even with the little issues.

Love this refrigerator except for one cravat

This is probably the best fridge since my great old Frigidaire of 40 years ago The space is wonderful with the shelves you can move around however you want or you can have all cleared space for a very large tray if needed. The door in the door is super convenient for such things as mayo vitamins etc. with having to open the whole thing. The one problem that we have had with this fridge is with the freezers both the craft and ice in the door have had issues that required a repair. The craft ice maker actually was replaced before we went out of warranty. The repair was quickly addressed by Costco with 24 hours. The second problem however deals with the extended warranty through AllState. Thus far we are at 10 days awaiting the fix. Due to a delay in shipping we havent been able to get the parts necessary. Otherwise a great fridge.

We bought this because it was a similar refrigerator to what we have. Now that we have it I am loving the upgrades from our old one. We find the door in door feature so handy with our children I also feel that even though its roughly the same cu feet of our other frig it seems so much more spacious and we are using the dual ice maker as well. Overall we are extremely satisfied.

Pretty good fridge

Overall I like the fridge. There are a couple things I wish were different though. I wished the doors opened wider. The shelves on the inside of the doors can get in the way of putting stuff in the fridge. Also the freezer looks bigger than it actually is. The shape of the freezer makes it hard to put bigger items in.

Great refrigerator

Purchased in 2020 along with an extended warranty which is also a good idea. Has worked perfectly until recently when the craft Ice-maker suddenly stopped dropping ice balls and put water into the tray. Repair person coming today - covered under warranty. Other than this one issue the refrigerator has performed flawlessly providing ample space for all our needs. Have enjoyed it thus far and hope it continues to serve for many years to come. Also hope youll ask again in a few years for our opinion since continued reports will be more helpful to others.

Great frdige...ice makers quit working

I bought this fridge in August 2022. Love the roominess and look. Bought this model specifically for the ice makers the large ball maker in the bottom freezer. Both of the ice makers quit working in November. Thought is was a fluke and researched how to reset them. Went through various you tube videos and instructions. In the end had to call and get someone to come out and look at them. The repair man said that we needed to get two parts order for each maker. Happy that the fridge is still under manufacturers warranty but no way only a few months into owning this product should I have to order parts and have items replaced. Disappointed. All my appliances are LGs and am a huge advocate. Just not a good experience with this product.

not as good as it looks

quite disappointed in it the doors open to far to the side making it impossible to fit in a space made for a fridge of that actual width the middle shelf offers very little room for tall containers. and you cannot remove only one side so it makes the fridge poor on ergonomics. the in door ice maker gets the ice jammed up and you have to manually break the ice loose so it will continue to make ice. Then the biggest problem is i have had the fridge less than 6 months and the craft ice maker in the freezer has failed. LG service has been excruciatingly slow and i may not get it serviced for three weeks yet. Not to mention that the craft ice maker i find out now is an ongoing issue and a class action suit is being proposed due to LG not correcting a known design flaw.. Overall it looks and runs well but after using it i find it not worth the money and for being a large fridge it does not have the storage capacity expected.. and no craft ice one of the main reasons for buying it in the first place..

11 months after purchasing our LG refrigerator/freezer both ice making stopped working. The craft ice maker only made one batch a day before the failure. We went through the reboot process. It started again only to quit 3 weeks later. This time the ice makers didnt reboot. We purchased a warranty the day before one uear warranty expired. The LG tech Sergey came out and ran a test. The error code revealed the problem and he resolved our problems. Working like it is suppoed to be for now.

LRFDS3016S Good fridge but problematic craft ice

Bought in October of 2021. Good fridge overall. Upper ice maker works well and I like the door in door for things we use a lot. We have had to have the craft ice maker in the freezer changed out twice. It was done for free thank you LG but it seems that this product hadnt been thoroughly tested before it was incorporated in the refrigerator. I have heard there is a new software update that might help out the ice maker. Time will tell.

We loved our LG ThinQ fridge with craft ice maker for a year. Thats when the craft ice maker started making a terrible noise and wouldnt drop the ice balls. I turned it off for several months. When I called LG for help it started working again for about 3 days. Then it started the same noise again and not dropping the ice balls so I turned it off again. And thats where its been for months now. Until this happened we LOVED it but now Im just happy I have a fridge.

I had an old side by side that I absolutely hated and replaced it with this Ferrari of a Fridge My husband and I were not sure we would use the ice balls but we love them. They melt slowly in your drink and I use them to feed my orchids And we still have plenty ice in the door which was a must for him. The front easy access door is fabulous.
